We are a group of art loving people who enjoy getting together in a social atmosphere to learn more about different artists and art techniques. We meet fortnightly throughout the winter and spring for demonstrations by a huge variety of artists. We also have two exhibitions a year where members can exhibit and sell their work to the public - we are delighted to be returning to the Malthouse Gallery again this year for our first exhibition of 2025.
The exhibition will run daily from 10 until 22 May, opening from 1030 - 1630.
Work is selected for the annual exhibition at the gallery and will encompass a wide variety of media and subject material, with some members working in textiles or metal, providing something of interest for everyone. From paintings to bowls, tote bags to coasters, each year brings an exciting eclectic mix with over 100 works of art.
If you are interested in joining the society, you don’t have to be an artist to come along. Our membership ranges from those who are interested in art, to beginners, experienced and semi-professionals. Their interests cover a wide range of disciplines including oils, acrylics, water-colour, mixed-media, pastels, drawing and textiles.
